Ashanti Douglas, popularly referred to as Ashanti and was born in Glen Cove New York United States on the 13th of October, 1980. She is an actress as well as a vocalist who hails from the United States. Ashanti started her career as young teenagers, and she was ultimately signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. In the same year, she made an appearance on the Fat Joe's What's Luv? track and Ja Rule's Always on Time track, both of which have become huge hit songs. It was the first time for a female artist to hold the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at first place and What's Luv? She was the first female artist holding the top two spots in the American Billboard Hot 100 With Foolish as number one and the other being What's Loving? The second spot is ours. Ja Rule's "Always on Time" as well as Fat Joe's "What's Luv?" were also featured. The sample used in the debut single Foolish is from DeBarge's Stay with Me, a 1983 track.
